the ones that fly away

Last night I dreamt that in my apartment there was a butterfly chrysalis hanging from the middle of my living room ceiling. I went downstairs to my entrance to open the front door and noticed that another butterfly had been trapped between the door and the frame. The tips of its wings twitched in a jerky fashion.

As I went back up stairs, the first butterfly began to emerge from its chrysalis. Once it was free, it began to flit around the living room, trapped in a space it didn't belong. I knew that it had to be removed from the apartment, so I reached out and caught it somehow. Cupping it in my hands so as not to damage the wings, I made my way downstairs to let it outside.

When the door was open, I opened my hands and watched as it flew off into the night. Then the second butterfly, which was half smashed by the door, started to move more. It seemed to unfold itself from its crushed position. Then it stretched its wings and flew out into the night after the first butterfly.

My interpretation: There's something (a dream/goal/relationship) that you're anxiously waiting for and watching for and some other dream/goal/relationship that you are assuming is dead or dying (or perhaps impossible to have co-exist with the one that you're following more closely) but really both are intertwined somehow...and still viable options.

How close am I? :)

Not a bad interpretation... Not bad at all...

Interesting dream AND interpretation. My dreams are usually about being late or lost, or of not being prepared. Which now that I think of it are often a problem for me in real life....... :)

I wish my dreams were so symbolic. Like your mom, I am consumed by very stressful dreams where I am late, racing to meet a deadline or get confronted for being late!
I AM hoping this is about this male friend from the past. Bart and I think you are so beautiful and gifted we can't wait for you to fall in love.
