time flies

Stacy just shamed me for slacking in my blogging when I have so much free time on my hands. You would think I'd have more time now that I'm not going in to work every day, but somehow time seems to get eaten up even more quickly when I'm not working.

That said, I am absolutely loving every second of summer leave. Work? Who needs it? Career? Who said I have to use the 7 1/2 years of education that I'll be paying for, for the next 30 years of my life? I'm kidding of course, but I am definitely enjoying this break from the library.

What have I been up to?

I've been back and forth between H'burg and Northern Virginia a lot. A few weeks ago I met Diego's mom when she was in town. She's the sweetest lady. I can see why Diego adores her.

Weedle was just out for a visit, so we traipsed around H'burg and Nova. She took 10,000 pictures, 7,894 of which are of old buildings :) It was wonderful to see her.

And tomorrow I fly to Rapid to see the family, but this time it's not just mom, dad, Aaron, and Steph. It's also grandma and all of my mom's siblings. My mom's family gets together about as often as we have solar eclipses (OK - maybe not quite like that). They're scattered all over the west (South Dakota, Colorado, California, and Alaska), so that makes it a bit difficult for everyone to get together frequently. When I heard everyone was getting together, there was no way I was going to miss it. Diego is flying out to Rapid too, and I'm so excited for him and my family to meet. I think this is going to be a fun trip :)

Oh, and I'm working on my research project here and there too, but I have a feeling I'll really need to buckle down and be much more productive in June and July. No worries though... it will all get done.
