now we wait
Well, I finally worked up the nerve to write and send the e-mail to Deb, telling her that I can't continue with the ESL class. It was difficult to write, but as I typed, I started feeling quite relieved. I explained my reasons for quitting and said that I would be willing to consider staying on until a replacement can be found. Now I'll just have to wait for her response.

Good for you. I know you enjoyed teaching this class--maybe in the future when you aren't so pressed for time you can take it up again.

Good for you. I'm the same way - I make too many commitments and find it really, really hard to give up any of them. Sometimes it's just what you have to do to keep your sanity for the next time.
Excellent work! Sometimes the most important thing to remember is that you're a human "being" not a human "doing" after all! :)
