not near enough
Today I tried on the bridesmaid dress my sister wants us to wear for her wedding in June. The dress is lovely and has a flattering cut, but really this post isn't about the dress. When I was getting ready to drive to the bridal shop, I wanted so badly to have a close girlfriend here whom I could call up and ask to come with me. Unfortunately, the nearest friend is 2 hours away, which isn't quite near enough for a spur of the moment (or even not so spur of the moment) get-together. Of course I've made friends since moving here, just not friends with whom I have a really deep connection. I miss having deep friendships where I live, and when you're craving deep friendships, acquaintance-level ones just won't do.

I sympathize with you on this one. I'm in the same spot here - friends who are more casual friendships that people you really know well and vice versa. It's kind of frustrating sometimes.
And husbands are good advisers when it comes to clothes!
I think it's time for you to migrate north. :)
I hear ya. All of my friends of that nature moved away. Please come back! :(
Ditto my friend...
isn't that so true.
I'm right there with ya - No one prepares us for the fact that it is much, much, much harder to make those kinds of friends in the adult world (outside of school). And there's no good remedy for it - because even if you make really close friends, they still don't have the kind of history with you that your friends of 10 years do!
Miss you! BTW - we watched the wedding video last night and you looked fantastic in your dress and v. happy with your boy. :)
