nostalgia + narcissism

Every once in a while, I remember an old post I wrote back when my blog lived on Upsaid instead of Blogger (see the nevada project archives below). It may be a bit of narcissism combined with a much larger dose of nostalgia, but it makes me ridiculously happy to read many of those old posts. I love reading them for a number of reasons that I'm not going to explain in any detail whatsoever:

* It helps me remember who I was before I was here.
* It makes me feel more hopeful and optimistic about the future.
* It reminds me that I can be a decent writer when I choose to be.
* It makes me love all of you dear friends even more.
* It reminds me that I used to write more often about more interesting topics.
* It makes me feel whole.

Now I'm going to have to read those posts once again. And by the way, you're on the verge of being published, and you need reminding that you can write????? :)

I for one would fully support more writing from you, as people's blogs are often the only way I can regularly keep in touch!

Looking at those archives makes me sad that we don't all blog as well as we used to. We had quite the little community going for a while there. Now Rochelle is the only good blogger.

It also makes me sad that, like Vanessa, blogs and Facebook posts and tweets are the best way I find out what's going on with people. That's so pathic.

You are an amazing girl! It's good to read the old stuff to remind yourself of that as well ;)

Also, Karen, I really miss your blogs. I really enjoyed reading them. In fact I was thinking of emailing you at one point to see if there might be a little place somewhere when you write.... It was a very selfish thought so I never got to writing it to you but if you do, let me know :)
